A DAY WITH CHANDRAYAN TEAM                       On the pleasant morning of 11th Dec 2008 ,we started from our school at 10:30 am to attend the felicitation of the chandrayaan team conducted by the Centre Of Earth Science Studies in memory of Prof. C. Karunakaran ,founder director of Centre For Earth Science Studies at Cobank Towers .We reached there by about 11am.The programme started at about 1:00 pm .Hon. C.M. of Kerala Shri V.S. Achuthanandan presided over the function .Besides him Hon. Minister of forestry Shri Binoy vishwam and minister of food and agriculture Shri C.Divakaran  also graced the function with their esteemed presence.                        The highlight of the function was C .Karunakaran endowment speech given by Shri Madhavan Nair .The delegates include the master brain behind the Chandrayaan project Shri Madhavan Nair and other scientists ,Dr.K Radhakrishnan ,P.S.Veeraraghavan ,P.K.Alex ,M.C. .Duttan ,M.K.G.Nair ,George Koshi ,S.R.Ramakrishnan ,S.Bhaskara narayan ,V.Adimurthy ,S.N.  Madhusudhana ,D.S. Venugopal,  S .Annadurai  and A.S.Kirankumar whose combined effort made Chandrayaan a reality.                          The welcome speech was given by Dr Yashodaran ,scientific advisor of CM .Then C.V.Divakaran ,Binoy Vishwam and chief secretary Shri  P.J.Thomas congradulated the delegates for adding a feather to India’s cap. Then Hon. CM Shri V.S. Achuthanandan honoured all the scientists of Chandrayaan team for, they are truly worthy of the mantle .Then he himself felicitated the “heroes” of the occassion .                   Dr M .Baba lighted the lamp and he gave a talk on C. Karunakaran which was very informative . Then came the event which was most awaited for ;endowment speech by Madhavan Nair.In it he highlighted the aims and applications of Chandrayaan .He also told us about the future projects of ISRO . The programme over by 3:00 pm.                        We all consider it to be our proud privilege to have been granted the opportunity to hear the inspiring words from Chandrayaan team ,who gave a great pride to millions of Indians.                                                                           BY CLASS XI SCIENCE STREAM STUDENTS
